According to North Texas Food Bank, about 1 in 6 families are food insecure. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation has gotten worse as more and more businesses shut down. With many families losing a source of income, there has been an increased dependence on food banks. According to the Dallas Morning News, as of 3/17/2020 many food pantries across the Dallas-Fort Worth area are running out of food. One of them stated, "Our shelves are going bare" and "the outgoing far exceeds the incoming".

As part of the North Texas community, we feel the urgency to help those around us in need. North Texas Food Bank is working with the Red Cross to keep our community fed during the crisis, and it is our duty to help those in need. With just a $1 donation, NTFB can provide 3 meals. It is incredibly important to have everyone help out the community, and this is the perfect opportunity - allowances, money earned from housework, gift money, etc. are all great ways for you to contribute.
