Generations Together
About the Program
Generations Together is a 5C program created to bring joy, encouragement, and companionship to older adults in our local community. Since Christmas 2024, 5C members have connected with residents at senior living communities by sharing holiday cards, gifts, and student performances.
The program began as a way for 5C youth leaders to reach out to seniors during meaningful times of the year, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. By bringing together students and residents, Generations Together helps create moments of warmth, connection, and community across generations.
What We Do
During holidays, 5C members write greeting cards to residents, sharing encouragement and their best wishes for the season. Members also help bring small gifts, such as cookies and socks, as a simple way to show care and appreciation.
A key part of Generations Together is the student talent show. 5C members share their talents through music, dance, singing, and other performances to entertain residents and brighten their day.
Through these visits, students have the opportunity to spend time with residents, build meaningful connections, and help them feel celebrated, remembered, and connected to the community.
